About Me
Dr Laura Shallcross supports people to unstick themselves. After burning out due to crippling perfectionist tendencies, she is passionate about helping people to unleash their potential and see the person they are instead of the stories they tell themselves.
Laura is a self confessed "recovering perfectionist", passionately committed to helping people help themselves to sustainably step up into their leadership abilities. With over a decade of experience working in male dominated environments, she is now embracing the feminine side she never knew she had and with it, more freedom, joy and fun than she could have imagined.
After completing a Chemistry degree and PhD in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Laura found coaching while working in a research laboratory; she was growing frustrated and resentful of the lack of recognition but felt she couldn't leave.
After burning out working in a job she hated and developing health issues associated with working in a lab, she turned her curiosity towards the world of IT systems. Using her coaching skills alongside her consulting role she was quickly able to create frameworks to support the people on her teams as well as bringing speedy results to projects.
Laura has now turned her attention to creating frameworks for people who are feeling stuck and unfulfilled. Her own experiences of burnout were the wake up she needed to move away from doing things out of obligation and instead working with purpose towards fulfilment. Laura's approach of creating space for reflection, laughter and practical next steps leaves her clients with a feeling of confidence, satisfaction and drive to do more whilst staying aligned to what is important in their lives.
