Big News!

Big News!

I've had a week or two off writing as you may have noticed. Things got a bit hectic in the last couple of weeks including a flying visit to Germany with about 4 days notice.

Anyway, that's not important, because I have news!

In April, on a whim I entered the ballot for the London Marathon, thinking that I absolutely would never get a place. Well, I was wrong! I have a place! And before I can overthink it, I've signed up!

My wonderful partner unfortunately didn't get picked for a ballot place, so he is now seeing if he can get a charity place instead. If he can then he's already said we'll run the marathon, my first marathon, together. If not, he's said he'll help me train because he thinks it's his fault for encouraging me to sign up in the first place.

Either way, it'll be a fun challenge for us to work towards together. I'm looking forward to the challenge, some what looking forward to the training (although the most common thought at the moment is "fuck me, 26.2 miles is a long way!") and really looking forward to the opportunity to fundraise for Guide Dogs regardless of whether my partner gets a place or not.

We've decided to blog, or possibly even vlog the... I don't want to use the word journey, it's overused... the experience! The experience of training and working towards a very long run. So watch this space for future updates!

Short and sweet and self indulgent this week. Next week will be back to something more useful :)

Have a great week Dear Reader!
